Employees of the insurance company “Euroins” underwent training on the innovations introduced by the new law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection”

A training session was conducted for the employees of “ Euroins“ insurance company regarding the innovations introduced by the new law "On Personal Data Protection". The audience was informed about the changes by Avtandil Lepsveridze, the deputy head of the planned inspection department - and Lika Taniashvili, the senior lawyer of the office of the president of the Personal Data Protection Service. During the meeting, various topics were discussed, including the updated principles of data processing and legal grounds, regulations related to the processing of data for direct marketing purposes, and the role of the Personal Data Protection Officer, among others.

Insurance organizations process a large amount of personal data within the scope of their activities. Accordingly, raising awareness of the data protection issues envisaged by the new legislative act will significantly improve the standard of personal data protection and contribute to the formulation of a unified policy.  It should be noted that the new law mandates insurance organizations to designate/appoint personal data protection officer.

The meeting was conducted interactively, with attendees receiving information about the measures they need to implement during the law's implementation in response to their questions.
