The President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia held a working meeting with the Secretary General of the “European Data Protection Supervisor” institution

On December 19, in Brussels, the President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, Prof. Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili, held a working meeting with the Secretary-General of the "European Data Protection Supervisor" institution, Leonardo Cervera Nava. Within the framework of the meeting, organizational issues related to the representation of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia in the "European Data Protection Supervisor" institution were discussed, as well as the support of the said body to the Service on the path of European integration, including the implementation of the new Law of Georgia "On Personal Data Protection."

The meeting was also attended by Sonia Perez Romero, Head of the Office of the General Secretary of the European Data Protection Supervisor, Nikoloz Popiashvili, Head of the Office of the President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia and Ana Tokhadze, Head of the Department of International Relations, Analytics, and Strategic Development.

The "European Data Protection Supervisor" is a European institution that monitors the application of the provisions of the "General Data Protection Regulation" in the EU member states. Its main function is to supervise the EU institutions and bodies on the processing of personal data.
