Paata Javakhishvili, Deputy Head of the Private Sector Oversight Department of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, took part in the event organized by the ISET Research Institute and the USAID Economic Management Program, which was dedicated to evaluating the progress of the electronic commerce reform.

At the meeting, Paata Javakhishvili spoke about the goals and changes defined by the new Law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection”.  

The event, held within the framework of the "Reformmetri" project, was attended by representatives of agencies, the civil and private sectors involved in the implementation of electronic commerce reform. The parties gathered at the meeting discussed the expected results of the planned and executed changes within the framework of the reform in the format of public and private dialogue.

Electronic commerce reform includes the improvement of the legal and regulatory framework of the mentioned field in the direction of the protection of consumer rights, the activity of intermediate service providers, the provision of personal data protection, and the tax system and tax services.
