Employees of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia took part in the "European Case Handling Workshop" in Bern. The meeting was organized by the Swiss Personal Data Protection Supervisory Authority. At the event, the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia was represented by Nikoloz Popiashvili, Head of the Office of the President; Tengiz Mamulia, the Deputy Head of the Office of the President, and Ana Tokhadze, the Head of the Department of International Relations, Analytics, and Strategic Development.

The event consisted of ten parallel workshops, conducted in a discussion mode among the participants. During the “European Case Handling Workshop”, participants discussed current issues in personal data protection law and practices of the supervisory authorities involved. Topics included the concept of personal data, how data protection supervisory authorities handle excessive complaints, cross-border complaint handling practices, the European Data Protection Supervisor's guidance on false “Deceptive Design Patterns”, incident reporting practices, etc. Employees of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia shared information about the new law of Georgia "On Personal Data Protection" with counterpart data protection supervisory bodies. They also introduced the practices of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, on individual issues.
