On October 15-20, within the framework of the 45th meeting of the "Global Privacy Assembly" ("GPA") held in Hamilton City (Bermuda Islands), Ana Tokhadze - the Head of the International Relations, Analytics and Strategic Development Department of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, spoke about the annual activities undertaken by the "Data Protection Metrics Working Group".

The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia was assigned as a chair of the Working Group in 2022 and is currently co-chairing by the Data Protection Supervisory Authority of Côte d'Ivoire. The Data Protection Metrics Working Group was constituted in 2016 following the adoption of the Resolution on Developing New Metrics of Data Protection Regulation. Its purpose is to develop internationally comparable statistical data on data protection and privacy and, to this end, study the experience of data protection supervisory authorities.

In the scope of the report, Ana Tokhadze spoke about the activities carried out and planned by the Working Group. For the sake of adopting the action plan and priority activities, the Working Group held several internal meetings during the year. For this purpose, meetings and consultations were also carried out with the "Strategic Direction Sub-Committee" of the Assembly. The Working Group assisted the GPA Secretariat in developing a census questionnaire to be sent to the GPA member authorities. To increase the Working Group's effectiveness and expand the representation of GPA members within it, the Spanish Personal Data Protection Supervisory Authority joined the WG in September. At the end of the report, Ana Tokhadze reviewed the working group's action plan's future activities and strategic development directions.
