The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia became a member of the Francophone Association of the Personal Data Protection Authorities.

On October 2-3, the Assembly of the Francophone Association of the Personal Data Protection Authorities (AFAPDP) held in Tangier, Morocco, granted membership status to the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia. All nineteen-member Data Protection Authorities participating in the event supported the Service in their decision to grant membership in the Association

The issue of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia joining the Association came to light during the 45th meeting of the Global Privacy Assembly, during which, Catherine Lennman, Vice President of the AFAPDP, delivered a report on the association's activities.

The AFAPDP was founded in September 2007 in Montreal, with the endorsement of Francophone Personal Data Protection Authorities and the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF). The Association's primary objectives include enhancing the effectiveness of its members' activities, establishing a francophone expertise platform in the field of data protection, sharing best practices, informing Association members about their activities, and collaborating with other international organizations.
