The Employees of the LEPL - Social Service Agency Were Trained on Fundamental Issues of Personal Data Protection

The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia recently provided training to more than 100 employees of the LEPL - Social Service Agency, covering the basic principles of personal data protection. The training was conducted in a hybrid mode and led by Ketevan Kratsashvili — Head of the Public Sector Oversight Department, and Ia Kipiani — Head of the Law Enforcement Sector Oversight Department. 

At the training, the speakers covered various topics, including peculiarities of processing of the special category data, essential organizational-technical measures needed to ensure data confidentiality of agency beneficiaries, transferring data to law enforcement agencies, consent and other legal grounds for data processing, internal components the scheme of the lawfulness of personal data processing, the mandate of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia and preconditions for exercising of data subjects rights.

Ia Kipiani and Ketevan Kratsashvili provided information to the audience on the Service's practices in relation to public institutions, including misconduct mostly revealed.
