The newly appointed members of the Steering Group of the Conference of European Data Protection Authorities, reached a consensus and decided to appoint the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia as the coordinator of the working group

The newly appointed members of the Steering Group of the Conference of European Data Protection Authorities (the so-called "Spring Conference"), membered by the representatives from data protection supervisory authorities of Bulgaria, Cyprus, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, reached a consensus and decided to appoint the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia as the coordinator of the working group.

 

The objectives of the Steering Group are as follows:

  • Providing strategic and practical advice to the conference hosts in relation to the organisation of the annual Conference.
  • Leading the implementation of any deliverables agreed upon by the membership at the annual Conference and proposing new deliverables to the membership where relevant.
  • Assisting the Accreditation Committee in reviewing applications of those seeking the member's or observer's status to the Conference and advising on complex matters.

 

It's important to note that before 2023, the Working Group was coordinated by the supervisory authority of the United Kingdom (ICO).
