Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili, Head of the Personal Data Protection Service, is participating in the Global Security Forum (GLOBSEC) in Bratislava.

The forum, hosted by the capital city of Slovakia on June 2-4, was opened by GLOBSEC President Robert Vass. The high-ranking guests at the opening ceremony were addressed by the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

The main topic of the 17th GLOBSEC Forum in 2022 is to discuss ways to strengthen security in the world and the resilience of the countries, take effective steps to support Ukraine, and strengthen the European neighborhood.

A thematic panel on the formation of the European digital era was held within the forum. Speakers at the panel included Casper Klynge -  Vice President for European Government Affairs of Microsoft, Jennifer Baker - EU Policy Reporter and Presenter, and Margrethe Vestager - Executive Vice President of the European Commission for a Europe Fit for the Digital Age and Commissioner for Competition. Speakers highlighted the role of the GDPR in an age of increasing digitalization to ensure that the right to privacy is not jeopardized.

GLOBSEC 2022 hosts delegates from 67 countries, which includes ten presidents and prime ministers, also, the event was attended by the ministers of foreign affairs and the defense of various countries.
