Informational-Public Lecture Was Held on Personal Data Protection Issues at Tbilisi State University

The Head of Personal Data Protection Service, Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili, together with the Dean of Law Faculty, Dr. Tamar Zarandia opened an informational-public lecture with a welcoming speech at Tbilisi State University. 

 

The lecture was organized by the Service and focused on personal data protection issues, including: personal data protection legislation, the Personal Data Protection Service and its mandate, rights of the citizen, video surveillance, direct marketing, etc.

 

In her welcoming speech, Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili spoke about the importance of personal data protection and raising public awareness in this regard, and stated that public lectures will be cyclical.   

 

The first lecture which was conducted in a hybrid manner and provided the opportunity to participate online, was attended by up to 50 participants in total. The trainers of the Personal Data Protection Service, Salome Kurasbediani and Lili Taniashvili provided the attendees with theoretical and practical information on important topics. The meeting was conducted interactively.

 

The representatives of the Service will hold informational-public lectures on various topical issues at Tbilisi State University monthly.
