The Presentation Of The Collection Of The Students’ Articles On Personal Data Protection Issues Was Held

Within the cooperation of the State Inspector’s Service and Georgian National University SEU, presentation of the collection of the students’ articles “Pressing Issues and Challenges related to Personal Data Protection”. The event was opened by the State Inspector, Londa Toloraia and the Vice-Rector of SEU, Ana Pirtskhalaishvili.

The speakers congratulated the students on successful participation in the project and mentioned the need for the interest of young people in personal data protection issues. They also highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the State Inspector’s Service and higher educational institutions, as well as the importance of this kind of textbooks. 

The collection combines 12 papers prepared by the students from the different higher educational institutions within the framework of the Essay Contest by the State Inspector’s Service and Georgian National University SEU. The papers cover pressing issues such as protection of students’ personal data in the process of distance learning, protection of health data during the COVID-19 pandemic, personal data protection in online services during the COVID-19 pandemic, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the security of personal data and threats of sharing minors’ data on the Internet.

Deputy State Inspector, Salome Bakhsoliani and the Vice-Rector of Georgian National University SEU, Ana Pirtskhalaishvili talked with the students about the importance of the issues analyzed within the framework of the project and the role of young people.

At the end of the event, the State Inspector and Vice-rector awarded the successful participants of the Essay Contest with the certificates.

The State Inspector’s Service will actively continue cooperation with higher educational institutions to implement projects aiming to raise public awareness in the field of data protection and to support the development of young people.
