The State Inspector’s Service And IDFI Launched A New Project

The project is implemented with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia and aims to strengthen personal data protection in Georgia and the capacity of the State Inspector’s Service.

The event was opened with welcome remarks from Londa Toloraia - the State Inspector, Girogi kldiashvili - the Executive Director of IDFI and Maaike Van Koldam - the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia. The event brought together representatives from civil society, international organizations, Diplomatic Corps and other interested individuals.
The new initiative is a successful example of cooperation of the public sector, civil society and Diplomatic Corps.

The project also includes organizing student competitions, for instance, moot court proceedings. The project activities include capacity building of the staff of the State Inspector’s Service and raising the level of data protection in various data processing sectors.
The activities planned in the frame of the project will support raising personal data protection standards in the country and raising awareness of the targeted social groups.

The State Inspector’s Service has established active cooperation with non-governmental organizations and the international community. Consolidation of resources of public sector and civil society is important for addressing common challenges and achieving common goals.
