The State Inspector Service will monitor Personal Data Protection during the Elections

The State Inspector, Londa Toloaria held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Georgia, Tamar Zhvania. The meeting aimed to discuss personal data protection during elections.

The Heads of the two institutions agreed on the plans of cooperation during the 2020 Parliamentary Elections and the pre-election period. As planned, the State Inspector’s Service will operate a hotline specifically for the staff of the Election Administration to deliver consultations regarding data protection.  The institutions will further cooperate within the frames of informational campaigns to prevent personal data breaches.

Within the frames of the meeting, the Heads of the institutions discussed investigative function of the State Inspector’s Service and agreed on the activities to ensure timely reporting of the possible offences.
