The Representative of the State Inspector’s Service Delivered a Speech in the First Meeting of the Council of Europe’s Committee on Artificial Intelligence

The Council of Europe’s Ad Hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAHAI) held its first meeting in Strasbourg. The representative of the State Inspector’s Service was nominated as the member of the Committee from Georgia.

Experts from the Council of Europe member states, as well as the representatives of various international organisations and observer countries participated in the Committee meeting. Within the frames of the meeting. Davit Karashvili, Research Manager of International Relations Department of the State Inspector’s Service participated in the meeting.

The Ad Hoc Committee on artificial intelligence (CAHAI) is set up by the Committee of the Ministers of the Council of Europe. Through multi-stakeholder consultation and based on the Council of Europe’s standards on human rights, democracy and the rule of law, CAHAI will assess the need and the elements of designation, development and application of artificial intelligence on international level.   

The committee will work until 2021 and on 31 May, 2020 will submit its first progress report to the Committee of Ministers.
