Convention 108+: Better Protecting us in Digital Age” – Tamar Kaldani participated in international conference

On 12 June, international conference titled “Convention 108+: Better Protecting us in Digital Age” was held in Strasbourg. The State Inspector Tamar Kaldani participated in the conference.

In her speech, Tamar Kaldani talked about the importance of Modernised Convention 108 of the Council of Europe, as well as outcomes of the projects implemented in Georgia with the assistance of the Council of Europe and successful examples of cooperation with other supervisory authorities.

The conference was opened by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland and Jean-Baptiste Mattei, Permanent Representative of France to the Council of Europe. Joseph A. Cannataci, Special Rapporteur on the Right to Privacy of the United Nations and Jean Lessi, Secretary General of CNIL together with heads of data protection supervisory authorities of Italy, Tunisia, Argentina and Philippines participated in the Conference.

The event was organized by the Council of Europe in co-operation with the French Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
