Global tendencies and exchange of practice-the Spring Conference of the Data Protection Authorities launched in Cyprus

Representatives of the Personal Data Protection Authorities gathered in Cyprus to attend the annual Spring Conference. The high-level meeting that brings together the European Data Protection Authorities aims to analyse modern tendencies and share the best practices of personal data protection.

The Personal Data Protection Inspector and the Deputy Personal Data Protection Inspector represent Georgia at the Spring Conference. Tamar Kaldani, along with her colleagues from the United Kingdom, Italy, Malta and Croatia and the Global Deputy Chief Privacy Officer of Facebook participated in the Panel discussion dedicated to the awareness raising campaigns on personal data protection. The Inspector presented about the awareness-raising campaigns implemented in Georgia with regards to personal data protection and shared the experience to the colleagues.

Within the framework of the Spring Conference, the participants will further discuss various aspects of personal data protection, such as implementation of reform of personal data protection rules in the EU, raising awareness of the public, transparency in the Cloud, Law Enforcement Authorities’ access to data, genomes and DNA databases. The Spring Conference will be closes on 28 April.
