Seminar on Personal Data Protection for Journalists was conducted

“Cyber and Information Security issues on Media- Best Practices of the European Union”- On 16-18 March seminar for journalists was conducted in Telavi. Representatives of the media received information about the personal data protection from the representatives of the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector, Estonian experts, staff of the State Security and Crisis Management Council, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs cyber security units.

Head of International Relations Department of the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector Nina Sarishvili delivered presentation regarding the importance of the personal data protection, practice of the Inspector’s Office, major functions, Inspector’s role and mandate, legal grounds for legitimate data processing, international practice and existing challenges.

The training was organised by the LEPL Data Exchange Agency governed by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia within the framework of the TWINNING project funded by the European Union.
