Training on Personal Data Protection for the representatives of political parties was held

On 28 February, 2017 training on personal data protection for the representatives of political parties was held. Around 20 representatives of political parties attended the training conducted by Natalia Mikeladze, Training Manager of the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector.

Within the framework of the meeting, the trainer talked about the importance of personal data protection. The key topics of the training were the rules, principles and legal grounds for legitimate data processing, the role and mandate of the Personal Data Protection Inspector. Furthermore, the participants discussed political views and the rules and regulations in terms of release of the citizens’ data.

The participants were particularly interested in the topics of video surveillance, direct marketing, principles and legal grounds for data processing, balance between the disclosure of the data and personal data protection. The practical cases of the Inspector’s Office practice were also discussed.

“Protection of the personal data is mandatory for every organization. This training aimed to explain the standards of the data protection envisaged in national legislation and answer to the questions raised by the participants according to their practice”,-stated Natalia Mikeladze.
