Training for the representatives of the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector

Data security challenges, the measures and instruments to ensure data security in the process of consultations and inspections - On 2-3 February 2017, a training on Data Security for the representatives of the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector was held.

Within the scope of the training, the international expert, Mr Mario Osswald delivered a detailed presentation on the capacity and structural organization of the data protection authorities to ensure data security, the German data protection system and the key duties and functions of the Saxon Data Protection Commissioner. Through the discussion of German experience, Mr Osswald talked about current state of affairs and the contemporary challenges related to internal information security in data protection agencies. Further, the discussion covered the components of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation and the Standard Data Protection Model.

Throughout the training sessions, the participants examined the specific instruments and measures that facilitate ensuring internal information security in data protection agencies. Based on the selected cases, the participants discussed the objectives, approaches and mechanisms that are exercised to ensure data security in general.

The training session was organised by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) within the scope of the project “ENIGMMA-Enhancing Georgia’s Migration Management”.
