Personal Data Protection Weekend will be conducted for the representatives of Academia

The Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector with the assistance of the UN and EU joint Project “Human Rights for All” and in cooperation with Training Centre of Justice, will conduct Personal Data Protection Weekend (PDP Weekend) for the representatives of Academia 19-20 November 2016 in Kvareli Training Centre of Justice.

The Participants of the PDP Weekend will discuss challenges Georgia is facing nowadays in terms data protection and privacy, basic functions, powers and practices of the Inspector’s Office, including the one related to the law enforcement oversight. Discussions will address the importance of data protection, privacy in the era of modern technologies and balancing rights. Participants will also have the opportunity to get the comprehensive information on the current European Data Protection Reform.

PDP Weekend is designed for the lecturers in law and aims to raise awareness among academic personnel and promote teaching of personal data protection along with other relevant disciplines.
