Six months’ Statistics of the Office of Personal Data Protection Inspector

The Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector published the statistics of its activities, which covers six months from January 1, 2016 to July 1, 2016.

In the past six months the Inspector’s Office dealt with 88 citizen complaints and inspected 44 organizations. 87 violations of law were revealed as a result of inspections conducted in public institutions and private organisations. Sanctions in a form of fine were imposed in 73 cases. In seven cases, sanctions were not imposed due to the expiry of a two-month limitation period. While, in seven cases, the organisations warned.

The Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector delivers consultations on personal data protection issues on a daily basis. 1 345 verbal, written and phone consultations were provided totally by the Office during the reporting period.

In order to increase public awareness, as well as for educational purposes, 25 trainings were conducted for 807 participants.

The Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector monitors the legitimacy of data processing in the country, deals with citizens’ complaints and conducts inspections of public institutions and private organisations.
