Candidates for the Position of the Personal Data Protection Inspector Were Presented to the Parliament

The candidates, Tamar Kaldani and Nikoloz Gelashvili were presented for the position of the Personal Data Protection Inspector to the sitting of the Bureau of the Parliament on June 8, 2016.
According to the time-limit the parliament has to select the personal data inspector within the 14 days. Candidate who receive more votes than other, but no less than one-third of the votes from total members of the Parliament is declared an outright winner.
A Selection Commission formed by the order of the Prime Minister of Georgia had selected the candidates for the vacancy of the Personal Data Protection Inspector and presented two candidates including the current Inspector Tamar Kaldani and Nikoloz Gelashvili to the Head of the Government on May 29, later, the Prime Minister presented the candidates to the Parliament.
The Inspector shall be appointed for three years. Tamar Kaldani has been appointed as the Personal Data Protection Inspector since 2013.
