Public Lecture was Held on Personal Data Protection at Grigol Robakidze University

Public lecture on personal data protection was held at Grigol Robakidze University (Alma-Mater) on May 31, 2016. The lecture was attended by the representatives of the University and more than 50 students. The Trainings Manager at the Office of Personal Data Protection Natalia Mikeladze talked about the personal data protection issues.

The modern challenges of personal data protection, the functions and mandate of the Personal Data Protection Inspector was discussed at the meeting.

The personal data protection issue was interesting for students and they were very actively involved in the process of the lecture. They asked questions on issues such as the implementation of surveillance and direct marketing. The problems related to the sharing the information across social networks was also discussed at the lecture. Moreover, they chat on processing the personal data of dead people.

Aimed to raise the awareness of students on personal data protection issues the Office of Personal Data Protection Inspector holds the lectures at different universities.

The Personal Data Protection Inspector’s Office will renew holding the lectures at the universities from September this year.
