A working meeting organized by the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Civic Integration and supported by the UNDP Georgia and the European Union, discussed the issues related to the amendment of legal acts in the rules of procedure of the Parliament aimed to increase the Parliament’s role in protecting human rights was held at Courtyard Marriot hotel on May 9, 2016.

The changes also apply to the rules of improving submission and discussion procedures of the Personal Data Protection Inspector’s (PDPI) report to the Parliament of Georgia.

The meeting was attended by the PDP Inspector Tamar Kaldani and Head of the Legal Department of PDPI Salome Bakhsoliani. Kaldani believed outlining the procedures would bring more visibility to the process. “It is important the timeline to be more defined including the period of submitting the report, what stages does the report has to pass within the timeframe of the committee hearings and how it will be outlined,” she said.
