Law on Personal Data Protection and other important issues related to personal data processing were the main topics of training held within the scope of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Consular Program at the Ministry’s Diplomatic Training Center, on April 25.

Training Manager of the Office of Personal Data Protection Inspector, Mrs. Natalia Mikeladze discussed with the participants rules of trans-border data flows, video surveillance and citizens’ rights, as well as basic principles of data protection established by legislation. At the training the mandate of the Inspector, along with the tools of monitoring data processing lawfulness were also discussed.

“We welcome the fact that data protection was the part of the Consular Program. Big amount of data is processed during fulfillment of consular obligations, accordingly it is very important to raise awareness of every person involved in this work” – mentioned Mrs. Mikeladze.

Training on personal data protection is a part of Consular Program of Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Diplomatic Training Center, which lasts almost for one year.
