Meeting with the EU Ambassador

On March 16, 2016 the Personal Data Protection Inspector, Mrs. Tamar Kaldani met with the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, H.E. Mr. Janos Herman. Programme Manager of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Ms. Yvonne Gogoll also attended the meeting.

The EU Ambassador emphasized the importance of personal data protection and the role of the Inspector’s Office. Personal data protection related activities envisaged by the Association Agreement Agenda and its Action Plan between Georgia and the European Union were discussed during the meeting.

“Inspector’s Office is actively participating in the implementation of strategic documents concluded by Georgia with the EU. At the meeting with the Ambassador, we have once again underscored the need to continue reforms to ensure compliance with the European data protection standards” – said the Inspector.
