Training on Personal Data Protection for the Staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was Held

One more training on personal data protection for the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia was carried out on February 17-18, 2016 in Kachreti. Representatives of different departments and regional units of the Ministry attended the training.

During two days training, personal data protection legislation, scope of application of the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection and relevant exceptions, grounds and principles of data processing, sensitive data processing, rights of data subject, data processing during operative-investigational activities, mandate and functions of the Personal Data Protection Inspector and other important issues were discussed. Training addressed concrete cases and examples that were faced by the Office of Personal Data Protection Inspector and representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

Training was led by the staff of the Inspector’s Office. During July 2015-February 2016 five trainings on personal data protection issues were carried out, which were attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the central and regional parts of Georgia. Training cycle was conducted with the support of ENIGMMA project implemented by the ICMPD
