Personal Data Protection and Case Handling- The Inspector’s Office Participates in Workshop

On 21-22 June, in Manchester, United Kingdom, the 29thEuropean Case Handling Workshop is taking place. The Workshop is organised by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) of the United Kingdom. The key topics of the discussions include the practical dimensions of the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union, mandatory data breach notification, new rights of data subjects, accountability of DPAs and dealing with complaints under the new regulation.

The workshop is attended by the Deputy Personal Data Protection Inspector and the Head of Legal Department. Within the scope of the workshop, Salome Bakhsoliani, Head of Legal Department, will share Georgian experience to the participants through a detailed presentation regarding the oversight mechanisms of the Inspector’s Office over police sector.

Simultaneously, on 21-22 June, GPEN Enforcement Practitioners’ Workshop is also taking place in Manchester. Within the scope of the workshop, the practical aspects of inspections are discussed, including planning and conducting of inspections. The workshop aims to share the experience and foster cooperation among the data protection supervisory authorities.
