Training on Personal Data Protection was held

The Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector renewed trainings for the general public and representatives of public and private organisations interested in data protection issues.

The training was conducted by the Projects and Legal Analysis Manager of the Inspector’s Office, Mariam Elkanashvili. The trainer spoke about the principles and legal grounds for legitimate data processing, about the role and the mandate of the Personal Data Protection Inspector, and further explained the procedures on how to appeal to the Inspector.

The participants were particularly interested in the topics of processing biometric data, illegal disclosure of personal information, video surveillance and direct marketing opt-out systems. The cases from the practice of the Inspector’s Office were also discussed.

Trainings for the citizens interested in data protection are held monthly. The next training is scheduled to take place in November.
