The Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector concluded the first International Memorandum

Personal Data Protection Inspector of Georgia Mrs. Tamar Kaldani and the Inspector General for the Protection of Personal Data of Poland Mrs. Edyta Bielak-Jomma signed the Memorandum of Understanding, on August 18, in Warsaw, Poland.

This is the first international memorandum for the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector of Georgia which aims to share experience between the Georgian and Polish data protection authorities.

The MOU envisages cooperation in legislative, institutional and technological development, promotion of the data protection, rising public awareness, organizing of the conferences, seminars, study visits and other meetings. Within the scope of the Memorandum parties will regularly share experience and information and implement joint projects.

During the visit to the Poland the representatives of the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector of Georgia will be acquainted with the activities of the Polish data protection authority, share Georgian experience, in the field of legislative work, inspections, public awareness rising and etc.

The Office of the Personal data Protection of Georgia was established in 2013, the Inspector supervises the data processing by private organizations as well as by public agencies and deals with the citizens’ complaints.
