Raising awareness and educational activities on personal data protection – Georgian and Polish DPAs share the experience

On December 6-7, 2017, the representatives of the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector of Georgia visited Warsaw for a study tour. The delegation was hosted by the Polish Data Protection Authority (DPA).

Within the framework of the visit, the Georgian guests shared the expertise and discussed the future plans with the colleagues from Polish DPA which has an extensive experience in planning and implementing successful educational and awareness raising activities.

The busy program included the meetings with the representatives of the Ministry of National Educational of Poland. The main topic of discussions was the effective methods for integration of personal data protection related issues into educational programs. The issuance process of identity documentation was also introduced to the Representatives of the Office of Personal Data Protection Inspector of Georgia at the Centre for Document Personalization of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.

The study visit was supported by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The European Union and UNDP are assisting the protection of human rights in Georgia through the Euro 4 million EU-funded programme “Human Rights for All”, which supports and promotes the implementation and monitoring of the National Human Rights Strategy and Action Plan ‎2014-2020.
