Data value in the age of technologies, data protection and security tools, the new Data Protection Regulation of the European Union – on 22 February Data Protection Forum was held in Tbilisi.

Together with the Latvian Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development, the Personal Data Protection Inspector of Georgia, Tamar Kaldani addressed the participants with opening remarks. Tamar Kaldani highlighted the importance of data protection in modern times and the new regulation of the European Union that stipulates higher standards of personal data protection.

Within the framework of the legal part of the forum, the Inspector also spoke about the Georgian personal data protection system, activities carried out by the Inspector’s Office and future plans, including in terms of enhancing the legislative framework.
