On June 25, 2015 Personal Data Protection Inspector, Mrs. Tamar Kaldani held a meeting with representatives of several electronic communication companies which transfer the electronic communication identification data to the law enforcement agencies.

The meeting focused on the standardized form and procedure for submitting the information to the Inspector, an emphasis was made on the obligation of mobile and internet service providers to notify the Inspector on the transfer of electronic communication identification data to the law enforcement agency within 24 hours after such transfer.

“Our Office is open 24 hours a day, including weekends, so that we are able to receive the information from the companies any time. For effective oversight over the covert surveillance activities, it is essential to obtain the information from the companies in a timely manner and in line with legislative requirements since we compare this data with the information received from the Courts and the Office of the Chief Prosecutor, and accordingly undertake supervisory measures, including inspections. We confirm our readiness to cooperate with the service provider companies and to continue individual consultations with them” – stated Mrs. Tamar Kaldani.
