If you have information about a possible violation and you want to inform the Personal Data Protection Office, you can send us a notification via this page. To do so, you must first fill in the notification field and provide us with as much details as possible about the content, place and time of violation as well as about the alleged offender. When you send us a notification it is preferable that you indicate your contact details, so that we can get in touch with you if needed. Submit a complaint

If you believe that your personal data are processed unawlfully and you want The Personal Data Protection Service to address the violation, you can submit a complaint to our office at the addres: #7 Vachnadze Str, Tbilisi, and also electronically. To submit an electronic complaint, you may download a complaint template, fill it out, sign it and send a scanned version to the address: office@pdps.ge. Mrs. Tamar Kaldani presented her report before the Parliament of Georgia

Personal Data Protection Inspector, Mrs. Tamar Kaldani presented the report on the state of the personal data protection in Georgia and on the activities of the Inspector before the parliament and answered the questions of the MPs.

In her speech Mrs. Kaldani talked about the steps taken in order to establish the high standards of data protection and mentioned that in 2014 the number of inspections and citizens complaints was raised.

“We covered data processing by approximately 100 organizations with the 14 inspections. The inspection of such big data controlers like the Ministry of internal Affairs of Georgia, Patrol Police, 112, Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, Ministry of Corrections, Ministry of Internaly Displace Persons from the Occupaid Territoris, Accomodations and Refugees of Georgia was held. We inspected legitimacy of data processing in the several private organizations like banks, gambling businesses and direct marketing companies. The Procecutor’s Office of Georgia and Ministry of Corrections of Georgia were fined for the disclosure of the sensitive categories of data without the legal ground for the data processing. The case of disclosure of the personal data to the third party by the carelessness was revieled in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry was also fined” – mentioned Mrs. Kaldani.

Mrs. Kaldani talked about video surveillance, trans-border data flows, direct marketing and activities held for the purposes of the awareness raising.

Mrs. Tamar Kaldani focused on the extended power of the Inspector - oversight data processing by the law enforcement bodies. “Now we are assessing the operation of the electronic system and program support established by the Ministry of the Internal Affairs. We are revieling all the possible shortcommings and testing the system. The Ministry was already notified on several problems and it is working on their elimination” – said Kaldani.

After the speech the Inspector adressed the Parliament with the request to adopt the regulation on the establishment of the commission on the destraction of the data collected as a result of the covert investigational activities and select two memebers of the commission from the NGOs”.

After the speech of the Inspector Head of the Human Rights and Civil Intergration Committee Ms. Eka Beselia introduced the resolution to the Inspector and other memebers of parliament according to which the parliament assessed the report of the Inspector positively.

“Very important, serious, argumented, contented report was presented which is related to the establishment of the entirely new standards of data protection in the country” – said Eka beselia and underlined several recommendations of the committee to the Inspector.

Chiora Taktakishvili represented the “United National Movement” on the meeting; she expressed her gratitude to the Inspector for the held activities and report. She stressed the extended power of the Inspector and asked her to pay attention to several issues, including photographig on the border-cross check points, video surveillance in the penitentiary system and public places.

The Inspector also expressed her gratituted to the Parliament for the recomentaitons in her final speech.
