Many applicants still address the Office of Personal Data Protection Inspector on direct marketing issues, including massages related to the personalized and approved loans, credits, vouchers or other products.

Offers regarding goods, products, services, employment or temporary jobs received by post, telephone calls, e-mail or other means of communication constitute direct marketing and are regulated by Georgian on Personal Data Protection. The Law obliges the companies to establish accessible and adequate opt-out mechanism from direct marketing.

Personal Data Protection Inspector recalls companies to comply with the law requirements and to provide citizens with the possibility to opt-out while sending such advertising messages.

We also advise the citizens to carefully learn the content of the message, specify the conditions of the offer and obligations arising in case of acceptance.

Citizens, who deem that they do not have the possibility to opt-out from advertising offers or sending the message was not terminated during 10 days after the denial, can apply to the Office of Personal Data Protection Inspector on the following address: 15 Apakidze Str, Tbilisi. Tel: 242 1000
