If you have information about a possible violation and you want to inform the Personal Data Protection Office, you can send us a notification via this page. To do so, you must first fill in the notification field and provide us with as much details as possible about the content, place and time of violation as well as about the alleged offender. When you send us a notification it is preferable that you indicate your contact details, so that we can get in touch with you if needed. Submit a complaint

If you believe that your personal data are processed unawlfully and you want The Personal Data Protection Service to address the violation, you can submit a complaint to our office at the addres: #7 Vachnadze Str, Tbilisi, and also electronically. To submit an electronic complaint, you may download a complaint template, fill it out, sign it and send a scanned version to the address: office@pdps.ge. Thomas Hammarberg: Protection of the Privacy should be the priority of the Government

The European Union Special Adviser on the issues of constitutional and legal reforms and human rights to Georgia, Thomas Hammarberg published his Recommendations. The document is designed for the Government of Georgia and it describes the progress achieved by the country in the different fields.

The recommendations relate to the issues such as adoption of the National Strategy and Action Plan on Human Rights, increased of the independence of judiciary, improved election environment, separation of the state and political party interests, the progress in the field of the privacy protection, improved conditions at the penitentiary institutions, adoption of the new Labor Code, adoption of the Anti-Discrimination Law, open cooperation with media and non-governmental sector.

Thomas Hammarberg outlines challenges Georgia faces right now such as finalizing work on the draft law on the secret surveillance and protection of privacy. The fifth chapter of the document concerns the privacy protection and secret surveillance. According to Hammerberg, the privacy should be the priority for the state authority, especially taking into account past violations.

The European Union Special Adviser assesses the appointment of the Personal Data Protection Inspector as the step forward and notes, that Personal Data Protection Inspector must have enough independence and appropriate financial resources from the state budget to fulfill his/her duties effectively.

“Since no institution of this type has ever existed in Georgia before and the office of the inspector in charge of protection of personal information is created from scratch, it is necessary to allocate sufficient amounts of state financing for its further build-up.” – said Hammarberg.

On 4-9 June, 2014 Thomas Hammarberg met representatives of the Parliament, Government, Judiciary, civil society and diplomatic corps as well as the Public Defender of Georgia and Personal Data Protection Inspector, Mrs. Tamar Kaldani.
