Georgia presented the Report on the Civil and Political Rights to the United Nations Organization

The 4th periodic report of Georgia on the Implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights was presented to the UN Human Rights Committee on July 10-11, 2014. The Report is discussed on its 111thsession.

The Delegation of Georgia is headed by the Minister of Justice of Georgia; and comprises representatives of the legislative, governmental and judicial authority of Georgia, as well as the Personal Data Protection Inspector, Mrs. Tamar Kaldani.

The level of implementation of the international obligations provided for by the ICCPR by the Georgian Government was discussed on the meeting. The members of the delegation participated in the discussions and answered questions of the Committee members.

The 1966 Covenant on the Civil and Political Rights is one of the most important international agreements in the field of the human rights and the level of the implementation of the Covenant indicates the level of the protection of human rights in the country. The final report will be adopted by the Committee on July 23 and it will be sent to the Georgian party.
